Welcome to Abbey Inn, located in beautiful Brown County Indiana We hope you enjoy your stay with us. Let us know if we can assist you in any way. Please be aware that this is not a hotel. We do not have full time staff 24/7. Check-In - Between 4 p.m. & 6 p.m. Please check the temperature of your tub upon arrival. If you encounter any problem with your tub or room, please notify housekeeping immedietely. (We cannot resolve the problem after you return home). Abbey Inn reserves the right to substitute similar accomodations upon unavailability of your room choice. Hot Tubs are occasionally subject to temporary closure or delay of use due to county health regulations & requirements. Please advise us if your arrival will be after 6 p.m. Check-Out - By NOON...please leave your key in keybox in lobby. All “walk-in” reservations must provide a valid credit/debit card upon check-in. In addition to payment for the room, we will place a $300 hold (not a charge) on the card as a damage deposit. This hold will be released upon check-out, provided that there are no damages to the room. If there are any damages found, then Abbey Management reserves the right to extract this fee from the card on file. Charges to Guest's card may include, but are not limited to: damages over and above normal wear and tear, theft, excessive cleanup, unreturned keys, unauthorized late check-outs and evidence of smoking in room. All guests who wish to pay cash must also provide a valid card to hold for damages or must provide another night’s payment in full as a hold/damage deposit. This cash hold can be redeemed upon check-out after housekeeping staff has inspected the room, provided that there are no damages. Telephone - There are NO phones in rooms. House phone is located near the front door of Inn. Towels - We try to supply enough towels for your stay... Then we give you plenty of privacy...Extra towels available in our common area. For environmental reasons we ask you to use only what you need while visiting Brown County. Limited maid service. Plenty of privacy. Food - We provide complimentary coffee... Each room has a coffee maker and mini-fridge for your food items. We provide complimentary coffee. Please, take care not to stain towels and bed linens. Movies - We provide complimentary movies for Inn guests... Each room has a TV/VCR/DVD & movies for you in our common area. Please have only 2 movies in your room (so all guests may enjoy). Hot Tubs - Please, do not add anything not supplied by Abbey-Inn (except, of course, yourself). No bubbles, No scented oils, no candle wax! Notify management immediately if tub leaks or makes strange sounds. Do not leave tubs on full power. (They will overheat). Hot tubs have weight & water displacement limits. Hot tub occupancy is limited to 400 pounds. If hot tub water is significantly displaced onto floor carpeting, a $75 fee may be applied to your room bill for carpet restoration. Thank you for your cooperation. Candles - Please, use only tea candles & holders supplied by Abbey-Inn Do not place on hottubs!! Do not leave candles unattended!!! Thermostats & Controls - Please, do not change any settings without asking. Rooms do not have individual controls. Thermostats control wings of the Inn and are set for everyone's comfort. Hot Tubs can increase tempertures in rooms. Quiet Hours - 10 p.m. UNTIL 8 a.m. Please, consider our other guests! No loud or disturbing noise or behavior during quiet hours. Number of Guests occupying a property is limited to the number stated reservation agreement. Limits are strictly enforced. Loud music or parties will not be tolerated. Violators will be asked to leave. No refunds. No Smoking - All of our rooms are non-smoking! This means ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING inside the building and smoking outside ONLY in designated smoking areas. Violators will be asked to leave. No refunds. Your credit card will be charged an extra room cleaning fee. Activities - We have a pond and wildflower walk at the rear of the Inn, as well as the fountain garden at the front. Please enjoy them. Each room is supplied with books and movies. You may select different books & movies in the front entry hallway. We are across the street from The Little Nashville Opry Country Music Theatre with shows each Friday & Saturday night. We are adjacent to Brown County State Park. The west gate is 1 mile west of Abbey-Inn. Brown County State Park offers swimming, hiking and horse back riding. It also offers romantic picnic spots with vistas that rival the Smoky Mountains. Please remember you are coming to the woods! If you are lucky you will be greeted only by Brown County Lady Bugs upon your arrival. They are harmless and in fact quite beneficial to the environment. Always be aware there are some critters around that can be bothersome and even dangerous, including wasps, ticks, spiders & snakes. If you are allergic to insects or pollen be sure to bring your anithistimine. If you plan to visit the park bring bug repellant, sunscreen, etc. We cannot control Mother Nature or her critters! Any damage to rooms, bedding, furniture, hot tubs, linens, and/or theft or extra cleaning will be BILLED to your credit card. Beds and hot tubs do have weight load limits. Customers of size must inquire prior to making reservations. Bed frames, linens & Hot Tubs are expensive...Please be careful. Abbey Inn Cancellation Policy: We are a small lodging establishment and we have our own policies. They are not like national lodging policies, so please read them. Reservations must be guaranteed with one night's deposit payable by check, mastercard or visa credit (not debit) card at the time of the reservation. Your card will be charged when you make the reservation. (Do not make your reservation on a debit card. Errors that might occur in processing could overdraw your debit card before we can make the adjustments, costing you overdraft fees.) Reservations must be cancelled in writing or by e-mail no later than 10 days prior to arrival date. (Please be aware that our "spaminator" may reject your email and ask you to request that we accept. The reason for this: the current "SoBig" virus is causing at least 100 emails each hour to be sent to our email box. We do check the spam folder daily for legitimate emails from our customers.) Deposits will be credited to your card less our $25.00 cancellation processing fee. Reservations may be rescheduled no later than 5 days prior to arrival date...re-scheduled reservations may not be cancelled. All rescheduled stays must take place within 6 months of the original reservation date in order for any deposits to be credited toward the stay. If a reservation/stay does not occur within this time frame, no refunds will be made and/or no credits will be applied to any future reservations. Late cancellations and/or "no shows" are subject to the full charge of the reservation. Refunds on rooms cancelled late will be made IF the room is re-rented, less $50.00 cancellation processing fee. If you find a problem with your room upon arrival let us know immediately and we will fix the problem or offer you another room. You must act promptly. Please be advised that we have no control over "acts of God" such as power outages, floods, or insect invasions. Abbey Inn reserves the right to substitute similar accomodations upon unavailability of any "1st choice" room. All Holidays, IU graduation and all "In Season" (9/19 - 11/13) reservations are full guarantee with NO cancellation policy. Some rooms require a two night stay on week-ends, check online availability to confirm which do.
