October, with spectacular fall foliage, is busy, but the remainder of the year is restful & relaxing. Brown County State Park has something for everyone. The Abe Martin Lodge and Housekeeping Cabins inside Brown County State Park are usually booked up to 2 years in advance. The Abbey-Inn is one of the closest lodgings to the state park. T.C. Steele State Historic Site is a few miles west of Abbey-Inn... "The house of the singing winds" was the Brown County Indiana home of Theodore and Selma Steele. They bought the land and built the home/studio begining in 1907. T. C. Steele painted in this studio during his later years. "This is a soft grey afternoon, dove tinted is the atmosphere, and how exquisite the surrounding hills are..." The Abbey-Inn is one of the closest lodgings to the T. C. Steele State Historic Site. We are east of Belmont a few miles and just one mile west of Nashville, Indiana.
